The council building (maison communale) is the starting point on this short itinerary that takes us in search of some significant features in local architecture. Magnificently restored by Ingegner Jaccod, the "maison Gerbollier" is now home to the administrative centre of La Salle. It is a former aristocratic home, fortress of the Viard family, made up of different buildings that surround an internal courtyard that can be accessed from the south, through a magnificent carved, stone
doorway. Some door and window frames, in the old part of the building, have shapes that recall the splendours of the XVI century building, while conversely, the beams in the farmhouse buildings show how the rural complex underwent considerable transformations around 1713 and 1819. Following the road eastwards, you come to the village of d'Ecours. In the square, the chapel is enriched with frescoes showing the Visitation to the Virgin Mary and a large San Cristophe (St. Christopher); with a fountain standing alongside, it is part of a series of old rural buildings, closely built one next to the other, and the robust Medieval square
tower construction, built by the De Curiis noblemen who gave their name to the village. The tower is the centre of a large farm that is still active today. In the valley upstream from Ecours, a mill used to take its water from the "ru" (irrigation canal) in Moyes. Once restored, it will become accessible via a shady route that goes from Prarion, in the direction of Moyes.
