Charvensod

A town at five kilometres from Aosta, on the left bank of the Dora Baltea. Inhabited from ancient times and dominated by the Becca di Nona and Mont Emilius peaks, Charvensod is located on the road leading to Pila, an attractive ski resort dominating Aosta.
Since 1620, the Chapel of Santa Colomba has been standing in an area known as Duys where a stream gushed out and attracted groups of excursionists in search of the goodness and freshness of the water.
The San Grato hermitage stands at 1773m and is one of the most famous in the Valley at the “heart” of the Pila forest.
The land offers environmentalists and ecology lovers the opportunity to follow magnificent itineraries on medium and high range mountains with varying levels of difficulty.
Lastly, worth mentioning is the summer track race, Aosta-Becca di Nona that lead skyrunners to try their hand on a return trip over 27km and a total of 5000 metres on different levels, that divide the regional capital with the peaks overhanging the town.
