Leave Valgrisenche behind and head for Prariond (2039 m). Follow the signs for the Chalet de l’Epée mountain hut (2477 m) and continue towards the Fenêtre de Torrent Pass (2840 m). Go down to the village of Rhêmes-Notre-Dame and take the path for the Entrelor Pass (3007 m). From here, go down to Nero Lake and the Djouan Lakes, then to the hunting lodge of Vittorio Emanuele II in Orvielle (2165 m). Continue on towards Eaux Rousses - Valsavarenche (1666 m). Go through the village and then take the path that leads to Levionaz Desot (2285 m). Go up to the Lauson Pass (3296 m), the highest point in the race, then go down to the Vittorio Sella mountain hut (2579 m). Continue on to Valnontey (1674 m) and from there to Cogne (1532 m).
