Sports fishing suggestions in the mountain lakes and streams
From the Dora Baltea, that runs along the central valley, to the clear streams
that flow into theside valleys, to the Alpine lakes with a panorama offering sports fishing enthusiasts more variety than ever. The “Regional consortium for the protection, increase and practice of fishing” each year publish a fishing calendar
full of useful information for fishermen: the necessary permits and issue points, periods and days in which fishing is allowed, the list of tourist and winter reserves, equipment, techniques and bait allowed. A specific map also indicates
all the lakes and streams in the regional territory where you can fish and the relative fishing systems. As well as the “free water”, there is a list of fishing reserves directly managed by the consortium, private reserves and those managed by “riverains”. A “riverain” is a private worker who directly promotes and manages the stream and sports fishing. Fishermen are accompanied to the fishing areas by the riverain who, in collaboration with tourist operators, also deals with the organisation of greeting and entertaining families and companions.
These areas are mainly no kill systems, with the compulsory release of the fish, and follow strict rules, such as: use single hooks without a tongue (the small piece sticking out under the tip of the hook), wet your hands before touching the fish and release them and handle the fish as little as possible.
