Mognol Livio - Wrought iron
Livio Mognol has been working as a blacksmith since he was 15 and since 1986 has his own studio. He has been teaching wrought iron production for years. He favours clean cut, essential lines that give the iron its real strength and expression. He expresses his inventiveness and originality by always trying to put a personal imprint on all his work whether it be a gate, a curtain pole or an ornament, even if his real works of art, so they say, are hammer heads…
This craftsman is part of the “Chemin des Artisans”, an itinerary that stops off in the studios of Valle d’Aosta’s craftsmen and who open their doors to the public. It is a route that will take you in search of the fascinating world of craft work: the savoir faire, creative thinking, the working techniques and materials used. All the productive categories in Valle d’Aosta’s craft work panorama can be found on this itinerary: furniture, sculptures, farming equipment, household goods, etc.
