The Ansa Agency and Forte di Bard once again together to tell a year of events.
The main cultural center of the Aosta Valley transforms the shots contained in the 2021 edition of the photographic volume PhotoAnsa into an exhibition, which collects the most significant images of the year just ended made by the photographers of the agency, linked to the great current events in Italy and in the world. A selection of over one hundred images from the seventeenth edition of the publication will be exhibited in the rooms of the Opera Mortai of the fortress.

• Twelve sections, corresponding to as many themes: no longer just pandemics, but many facts national and international, from news to politics, from sport to customs. 2021 was the year of the return of the great international events, with the rain of missiles on Gaza and Israel and the victory of the Taliban crowned by the assault on Kabul airport. Then there are the images of politics: of the government with Prime Minister Mario Draghi and of the mayors of the main Italian cities, whose election was halved by unprecedented abstention.

• One section is inevitably dedicated to the pandemic* but from a different perspective than in 2020: two years after the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, photos of patients in intensive care wards have been replaced by rows of citizens in waiting to receive the vaccine, from the many reopening of places of culture, work and tourism, from young people who show the Green pass and, by contrast, from the no vax demonstrations.

• Between a section dedicated to the great heat that characterized the beginning of summer, with temperatures close to 50 degrees, and one to the landing on Mars of the Perseverance rover, the protagonists are the victories in sport and music that tell of an Italy that wins thanks to its talents: the triumphs of Italian athletes at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the conquest of the title of European football champions, the European volleyball victory and that of Italian band of “Maneskin” at the Eurovision Song Contest.

• The images of winning young people, of raving crowds in the squares of Italy, are overshadowed by another sad record that Photoansa 2021 could not fail to record, that of the escalation of violence against women: young people, the elderly, mothers, students or workers, who go, day after day, to update the dramatic statistics on feminicide.
