Walk to Cortlys

At 9.30 a.m.: meeting at Staffal’s bridge (1.850 m), at Lys-Valley’s upper end.
At 10.00 a.m.: hike to Cortlys (2.007 m) along path number 1 on the right side of Torrent Lys, accompanied by the students of the language school ISILTP (Verrès), who will explain to all participants the geographical, geological and cultural particularities of this area.
At 4.30 p.m.: return to Staffal along path number 7 on the left side of Torrent Lys.
Registration from 25th May to 1st June.
Mountain boots are recommended.
Each participant provides his own packet lunch.
If the weather is bad the event will be cancelled.
The upper Gressoney-Valley and the Lys-Glacier are a real open-air museum and a very interesting area for glaciological research and for the studies of climate change.
This walk also wants to stress the importance of environment protection.
