Start: Gabiet (Gressoney-La-Trinité)

A beautiful excursion that, using the Gabiet facilities, lets you make a good difference of level of descent, compared to the ascent.

Take the cableway up to the Gabiet.
From the point of arrival rise back along the downhill ski tracks until the tableland above the Albergo del Ponte (Hotel of the Bridge).
Cross all the plain to go up then towards the left up to an opening. Once you have reached it you go down along the hillside towards the right, until you enter a small gorge that you will have to follow almost until the end, to cross again then towards the right until you get to the basin below the Salza Mountain Pass. Go on into the basin to go up again then over a small gorge that leads you to the Mountain Pass.
Downhill, follow the center of the gorge that, with beautiful slopes, at even steeper intervals, leads you to the valley floor. Once you have reached the moraine of the glacier, follow it along a channel to cross, then, into the wood along the hillside and reach the Stafal hamlet on the valley floor.
