  • Arriving from France on the A5 “Aosta –Torino” motorway, take the Aosta ovest (Aosta west) exit and follow the signs for the centre of Aosta.
  • Arriving from Switzerland on the Gran San Bernardo Regional Road, cut across Aosta towards the south.
  • Arriving from Turin on the A5 “Torino- Aosta” motorway, take the Aosta est (Aosta east) exit and continue towards Aosta.

You can ascend from Aosta to Pila in a cable car. From the Pila cable car area, the first 2 kilometres are on a dirt road while the 2 kilometre stretch from the San Grato Hermitage in Pila is on a narrow mountain path. The next few kilometres before reaching the municipality of Gressan are on a dirt road and the stretch between Gressan and Aosta is on an asphalt road and cycle path.
