"La Crotta di Vegneron" Wine Cooperative
Wine - ChambaveLa Crotta di Vegneron Cooperative was founded in 1980 with about 25 members. Today, with more than 50 members, it has raised its production to 200.000 bottles. The Cooperative gathers the grapes of two important areas of production that give their name to the designations of origin Chambave (which also includes the municipalities of Châtillon, Saint Vincent, Saint Denis and Verrayes) and Nus (which also includes the municipalities of Quart and Fénis) .
Valle d’Aosta DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) wines of this production grow in a mountain environment with steep slopes and very fragmented vineyards, whose exposure is mainly to the south. In this Cooperative red grapes represent 40% of the total production, while white grapes represent 60%. Various types of wine are produced from these grapes, 15 (reds and whites) of which have the Valle d’Aosta DOC Denomination of Controlled Origin certificate, 2 spumanti with the brand ‘Quatremillemètres Vins d’altitude’, with a complete range of typologies, ranging from aperitif wines to dessert and “meditazione” wines (“meditazione” wines include sweet passito wines, red wines that have aged for a long time or important red wines). The philosophy of La Crotta di Vegneron is markedly devoted to the enhancement of autochthonous grapevines such as Petit Rouge, Fumin, Vien de Nus as well as traditional ones such as Muscat de Chambave and Nus Malvoisie. The company’s production also focuses on vines with more international names such as Pinot Noir, Gamay and Müller Thurgau that are perfectly suited to our soils and to our climate. The altitude of the vineyards of La Crotta di Vegneron is significant: from 500 to 850 m a.s.l., the microclimate is quite peculiar with a low amount of rainfall and high average daytime temperatures as opposed to cool nights, almost cold in the summer. These morphological and climatic characteristics favor perfect ripening of the grapes and limit the attacks of parasites. As a consequence there is very little need for treatments, always carried out and planned with the utmost respect for the environment.

"Caves coopératives de Donnas" Wine Cooperative
Wine - DonnasThe municipality of Donnas boasts a long tradition of vine-growing, as evidenced by numerous historical documents, including one dating from 1214; even Napoleon, in May 1800, had the opportunity to sample Donnas wine. It was precisely to preserve these noble winemaking traditions that, in 1971, after obtaining the Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) designation for the wine, a group of winegrowers formed a cooperative with the specific aim of safeguarding and guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of the wine.
The cooperative has an annual production capacity of around 80,000 bottles.
In 2025, we introduced a new label to our range: the Valle d’Aosta DOC Donnas “Miniere”. After 12 months in oak barrels, the wine completes its maturation at over 2,000 metres in the evocative Magnetite Mines of Cogne, the highest in Europe.

Pianta Grossa Winery
Wine - DonnasFor 396 years, a horse chestnut tree had been growing in a courtyard, becoming more and more imposing, so much so that the farmhouse all around it became commonly known as Pianta Grossa (Big Plant). In 2009, due to an illness, the 25-meter big plant was cut down. So that the strength of the tree would continue to permeate that place, Luciano, in 2014, decided to also call his newborn winery ‘Pianta Grossa’; his winery is housed in the old farmhouse.
Behind the winery is the moraine mountain with the family vineyards, growing on the steep pergola terraces where the Nebbiolo Picotendro grows.
The wine business is set in the wake of a family tradition that has been alive for three generations. The cultivation of grapevines takes place over an area of about 2 hectares with Valdostan pergola cultivation. The vineyards are located on steeply sloping terraces in the municipalities of Donnas and Pont-Saint-Martin (about 400/500 meters above sea level). The soil of glacial origin is sandy and rich in organic matter. The sand gives the wine finesse and aroma while the organic substance ensures an adequate moisture content in the soil, the necessary nutrients and a balanced biological life: necessary conditions for obtaining healthy and well-ripened grapes. The organic substance is obtained on site from the mowing of the grass that grows under the pergolas and which, left on the ground as mulch, protects it from the cold winter and from the degrading action of the summer sunlight. Thanks to the management of the soil via natural methods, our company has never had to use herbicides or irrigation. The phytosanitary treatments are carried out according to the European guidelines of the PMI (Pest Management Integrated), while for the containment of some insects (moths), the fight for sexual confusion has been successfully adopted, in the most rigorous respect of the environment.

Naturalys educational farm
Agricultural companies - Other products - GabyNaturaLys (from Natura and Lys, the river that runs through the valley) was founded in 2008 when the owners decided to buy four beehives for family honey production. The desire was to return to tending bees, as their grandparents had already done in Gaby years before, and to start an activity in close contact with the surrounding nature. Since that year, the number of families has grown.
In 2012, they also started growing vegetables: potatoes, courgettes, pumpkins, ribs and chops, salads, onions, carrots... and everything else that can grow at this altitude. The natural and agricultural context in which the farm is located makes it possible to obtain genuine products of high organoleptic quality.
The vegetables are sold freshly picked and also processed into many delicacies in the workshop, as are the small fruits (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and currants) that are cultivated on an area of 2500 square metres.
Since spring 2015, a dozen colourful laying hens have joined the family.
Naturalys is also a holiday farm where you can taste sweet or salty snacks prepared daily with the extra-fresh raw material from the farm.
The spacious outdoor area is equipped with a wooden playhouse for the children, which contains a wooden toy kitchen and all what children need to play.
Vegetable gardens, fields of potatoes and small fruit patches surround the farm, which is entirely flat ground, and can easily be visited.
Inside there is a television room to project videos and photos and a guest bathroom.
