Testa dei Frà

Ski mountaineering  -  La Salle

From Morge, 1,694 m, climb up the fields above and long farm roads to the ridge that quickly leads to the Les Ors chalet, 2,100 m. Cross on the left to the wide valley on the marked and unmarked paths that lead to Col Fetita, 2,557 m. Turn left and follow the ridge to the forepeak. Continue along the ridge keeping to the eastern slope as much as possible and cross to the peak.

Combe Varin

Ski mountaineering  -  La Thuile

Just before the village of Pont Serrand follow the trail of the road on the right that leads to the Orgères mountain pastures. Turn right and go up the steeper trail and enter the Orgères Valley. Once into the valley turn to the left and head up the slopes, in some stretches with supports, that lead to the Combe Varin.

Mont Colmet

Ski mountaineering  -  Morgex

From Arpy, follow the cross-country track in the same direction, keeping to the right. Follow the road for a bit and then the path which, after a last steep climb, leads to Lake Arpy. Follow the lake shores to the second plateau: here you have two alternative - climb to the right and cross a steep segment to the left, or climb the groove to the left of the waterfall.
Climb the upper peaks to Lake Pietra Rossa. From the lake, continue to your right going around the ridge of rocks. Then take the slope on the right which leads to the hill where the you will find the Chabloz refuge. Cross the last part on foot, heading South.

Col di Chaleby

Ski mountaineering  -  Nus

From Lignan (1633 m) climb to the top of the slopes. Take the summer path that winds through the wood to the Fontaney chalet at altitude 2,079 m. From here, always to your left, hike to the upper Fontaney chalet at altitude 2,302 m. Cross halfway to the plateaus above. Cross the plateaus to the right of the valley and, following your own path, reach the Salvè hill at altitude 2,568 m. Head West and follow the beautiful peaks on the northern side to Col di Chaleby at altitude 2,683 m.

Punta Galisia

Ski mountaineering  -  Rhêmes-Notre-Dame

Day one:
From the hamlet of Bruil (1723 m), follow the trail of the summer road passing the inhabited area of Pelaud and Thumel 1868 m. Then, leave the road and head up into the forest on the left following the trail of the summer pathway as far as 2000 m. After the first channel, keep to the valley basin and cross over the Dora using the bridge, carry on up the left hand side of the valley and with a few ups and downs, going round some rocky crags, you will come to the Benevolo refuge where you can book in for the night.
Day two:
Walk along the Dora on the left, pass a long plain keeping as low as possible. At the end of it, start climbing slightly on the left in the direction of the Fond glacier, leaving an obvious square block on your left. Walk along side the rocks at the base that separate the Lavassey and Fond glaciers then carry on in the direction of the Basagne Pass. Watch out for the numerous, dangerous crevasses. Once you reach the pass, head to the left and climb up a significant slope leaving the rocks on your left. Head towards the steep slope that leads to the peak which you can get round on the left. There is a large stone figure at the top that can be seen from afar.

This itinerary requires experience of high mountains and it is recommended that you get a mountain guide to accompany you.

Summit of Entrelor

Ski mountaineering  -  Rhêmes-Notre-Dame

Cross the inhabited area and the Dora di Rhêmes from the car park and head up through the meadows on the right bank in the direction of two isolated houses; carry on up on your right following the trail of the summer pathway. Leave the clearly visible Cucco Castle (2007 m) on your left and, with one last steep crossing to the right, you will come to the entrance of the Entrelor Valley. Climb up the centre then head over to the right and, with a steeper stretch enter a trough on the left. Go back up the valley, then head over to the left and you will come to the glacier. A slope on the right will take you directly to the hillock just to the left of the summit. In the event of unpredictable snow, it is advisable to head up to the left, moving towards the watershed with the Valsavarenche and coming to the lower summit.

Mont Flassin

Ski mountaineering  -  Saint-Oyen

From the large parking lot where the Foyer di fond is located, climb South along the slopes, cross the steam and continue to the woods. Enter the woods following the farm road to the Upper Flassin mountain pastures. Climb to the left along the steeper slopes heading for the gap between Testa Cordella and Mont Flassin. Follow the wide ridge and then the steeper segment to the summit.

Punta Leysser

Ski mountaineering  -  Saint-Pierre

Leave your car at the end of the road and climb on the plateaus above the town. Continue along the gentle slopes towards the top. Keeping to the left, you’ll reach a clear rise. Follow it and cross a steeper segment on the right to the gap on the left of the peak. Follow the ridge on skis to the summit.

Col Serena

Ski mountaineering  -  Saint-Rhémy-En-Bosses

Park your car in the square at the Crevacol ski-lift facilities and follow the road that passes under the viaduct then pass on the left side of the river. Follow the estate road for a stretch, then head up to the left as far as an Alpine Hut and pick up the inter-estate road. Follow it, cutting across it in certain parts along pretty slopes as far as the Bois Bas mountain pasture. After a while, cross over to the left between the larches and climb up the vast valley in the direction of the pass with a non-obligatory route.

Punta Valletta

Ski mountaineering  -  Saint-Rhémy-En-Bosses

From Cerisey, follow the stream until you start to climb South-West towards the Citrin Inferiore pastures. Cross the valley (at times invaded by avalanches) and climb in the steep woods trying to follow the summer trail. At the Citrin di Mezzo pasture, cross the unmarked valley heading for the hill. Just before the first rise, turn right and enter a beautiful valley that leads to a gap in the North-East ridge. Climb as far as possible on skis and then continue on foot.

In safe snow conditions you can also directly descend the steep southern slope.
