The history of Maison Anselmet is not related to the incorporation of the business in 2001; however, a token has been passed down by generations of people who dedicated their life to land and its fruits. The first sure trace of an Anselmet winemaker dates back to 1585 and is found in a purchase contract for a vineyard in Villeneuve. In 1978, Renato Anselmet, father of Giorgio, decided to continue the family tradition and also started to produce wine for trade purposes and not only for personal consumption.
Year after year, grapevines were selected, the vineyard surface area expanded and the production, in terms of both quality and quantity, increased. From the 70 bottles produced by Renato in 1978, Giorgio went on to bottle more than 70,000 bottles in 2008. The next goal, ambitious but achievable, will be 1000 hectolitres, after the 90,000 bottles produced in 2011.
