From Courmayeur, take the paved road which soon leads you the hamlet of Dolonne. Go through the tiny streets and the itinerary continues up with sections on the private road and sometimes on the path, until you come to the cablecar arrival station in Plan Chécrouit. Continue along route AV2, mainly on the ski slopes until you come to the Maison Vieille refuge, from where, as you cross high altitude meadows you can admire several alpine lakes, until you come to a stony slope. Descend from here towards the pastures of Arp Vieille Damon and Désot. From here, you soon reach a dirt road. Turn left into it and go up to the plateau of the valley of Lex Blanche walking alongside the Dora Veny. Cross the stream over a bridge, then go up, crossing over the dirt road several times, until you come to the Elisabetta refuge.
