The river Dora Baltea presents the most beautiful and technical rapids of Italy, which flow between wonderful vineyards and gorges, with a level of difficulty from III to V.
Because of these characteristics, it will be the arena where rafting categories Junior under 19 and under 23 in the R4 configuration (dinghies with crews of 4 people) will compete for the World championship.
The event is not to be missed : in Villeneuve, with the exciting Downriver discipline (classic descent), and that in Ivrea, with the races of Slalom and RX (race in pairs with elimination).
The stretch of river where the descent race will tak place is the portion from Chavonne (Villeneuve) to to Sarre (level of difficulty: III).
The Dora Baltea originates from the slopes of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps and in Europe.
Flowing along the Aosta Valley, the Dora Baltea crosses the city of Aosta, founded by the Romans and still today rich in historical remains.
Once entered in Piedmont, the river runs through the city of Ivrea towards the artificial basin that has hosted several times the World Cup and the World Championships of canoeing.
