Prosopon – La Camera di Orfeo: Blanche

An actress in the mirror, through the character of Blanche (“blanche”, like the blank page on which to write one's life; ‘Blanche’, like the protagonist of the theatrical and then cinematic masterpiece by Tennessee Williams and Elia Kazan - ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’) investigates this painful and courageous process by going through all the stages of the butterfly as if they were metaphors for the existential trials that lead to liberation from pain through the realisation of a self capable of flying away.
Thus, like the butterfly and like Blanche, the actress, in her monologue in front of the mirror of a hypothetical dressing room, will prepare herself for the flight that will take place when she goes on stage.
