The Aosta Valley is the protagonist of two stages of the Giro d'Italia 2025.
On Friday, May 30th, the 19th stage will start from Biella and end in Champoluc, in the Ayas Valley, after a 166 km route with almost 5,000 metres of positive altitude difference.
The cyclists will face a sequence of challenging climbs: the Col Tzecore (between Montjovet and Saint-Vincent), the Col Saint-Pantaléon (Chambave) and the Col di Joux (Saint-Vincent), climbed from the hardest side. The finale includes the climb to Antagnod, a first for the Giro, before the descent to the finish line in Champoluc, which hosts the arrival for the first time in the history of the “pink race”.
The 19th stage, with its long and steep climbs, makes the most of the morphology of the Aosta Valley territory and could prove decisive in the fight for the pink jersey, two days before the end of the Giro.
On Saturday 31st May, the 20th stage starts from Verrès and heads to Sestrière, with the first 15 km of the route in Valle d'Aosta territory.
