Tour du Grand Paradis - Renato Chabod Trophy
After a very successful first edition held in May 2004 the national ski-mountaineering race Tour du Grand Paradis - Renato Chabod Trophy immediately gained all the characteristics of a competition destined to become a classic on the calendar of competitive sports events for great ski-tourers.
It represents a spectacular and interesting skiing trail both for the landscape and for the competitive techniques used.
This prestigious Trophy has been named after a famous Mountain Guide of Valsavarenche:the mountain climber, writer and parliamentarian Renato Chabod who was the first person, in 1930, together with other mountain climbers, L. Bon and A. Cretier, to inaugurate a series of climbs to the peak of Gran Paradiso on the extremely difficult North-Western wall.
