A hike to the Benevolo Refuge

A full day excursion.

From Thumel you climb to the Grand Vaudalaz valley and enter a forest that gives way to alders and willow-trees. The vegetation becomes more sparse fading into alpine prairie, dotted wit countless altitude flowers. At the highest point the view ranges from the Granta Parey to the valley floor……Return via the Benevolo refuge (2285 metres above sea level ).

Meeeting point: 9.a.m. in front of the church, in Rhêmes Notre Dame
Hiking time: circular itinerary 5 hours
Height difference: 480 metres
Difficulty: E (for hikers)
Number of participants minimum 4 persons
Necesssary equipment: summer clothing, long summer pants, sunglasses, packed lunch.
