Frank Adler is a single man raising Mary, his sister’s seven-year-old niece, an absolutely brilliant math.
Even Mary is extraordinarily gifted for the subject and not only, so that when she has to reluctantly go to school she finds herself in a condition distant light-years from that of her peers.
This makes her uncomfortable but, to aggravate the situation, intervenes the maternal grandmother Evelyn who wants to take her away from Frank to push her on the side of excellence in studies.
