Presentazione del nuovo libro "Maria Maddalena e l'acqua: dalla Provenza a La Magdeleine in Valtournenche" di Alina Piazza - edizioni Pedrini.

 L'autrice, nelle varie pagine del libro, con la copertina che non a caso riproduce un bassorilievo molto interessante della Maddalena penitente sito nell'altare della Chiesa di La Magdeleine, ci conduce in un viaggio affascinante, per il quale l’acqua diventa l’elemento connettivo che lega tra loro figure, solo in apparenza lontane, a Maria Maddalena. La convergenza tra archeologia ed etnografia si sostanzia sia in antiche leggende che in evidenze archeologiche, che risultano «vivificate» dal coinvolgimento in pratiche rituali successive.

La documentata ricerca storica effettuata per la stesura del libro, e citata in un'ampia bibliografia, si pone nel tentativo di ricondurre al toponimo La Magdeleine, che dalle sue origini ci permette di abbracciare un arco temporale e geografico significativo.

Il viaggio di approfondimento intrapreso dall'autrice, coinvolge e transita da Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in Provenza, giunge alla Valtournenche e si spinge sino a Barmasc in Valle d’Ayas, per riscoprire anche l’antico rituale dell’immersione della croce nelle sorgenti.

La domanda che ci si pone, come evidenziato nella presentazione del libro dal noto scrittore torinese Massimo Centini, rimane senza risposta: “L’acqua ha un’anima? Ci sono culture che ne hanno la certezza, mentre altre, pur non ammettendolo direttamente, lo dimostrano attraverso un’ampia gamma di riti, credenze e tradizioni, ma è la fede che ne decreta il patrimonio religioso storico e culturale.

Il libro si chiude con la ripubblicazione in lingua francese, del viaggio da Aosta a Perloz del Canonico Laurent Glésaz: “Vers la Garde...”, pubblicato nel 1927. Il Canonico descrive il celebre Santuario di Notre-Dame de la Garde nella Valle del Lys, ancora oggi luogo mistico e meta secolare di centinaia di fedeli e pellegrini il cui testo è preceduto da un approfondimento dell'Ass. alla Cultura del Comune di Perloz Solange Soudaz.
