Sguardi di Intesa is the first institutional exhibition in our country in which a representation of the evolution of fashion photography taken by women is proposed. The exhibition is introduced by a section with images from the Sixties and Seventies that show the work behind fashion, often done by women: weavers, seamstresses, workers. A second section of the exhibition is dedicated to the authors who were the first to deal with fashion photography in Italy.
Exhibition included in the Museum Subscription circuit.
The exhibition continues with Florence Henri, protagonist of the avant-garde of the Thirties, Alice Springs, wife of the very famous Helmut Newton, Louise Dahl-Wolfe, author of many covers of "Harper's Bazaar", Vittoria Backhaus, Elisabetta Catalano, Lillian Bassman, whose important work spanned the entire twentieth century. Approximately eighty percent of the works on display are original: Brigitte Niedermair, Maripol, Ellen von Unwerth, Vanessa Beecroft, Viviane Sassen, the Italian Ilaria Orsini, the French Irina Ionesco, some emerging artists: Lucia Giacani, Angelica Cantù Rajnoldi and the very young Veronique Mazzoli.
The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalog (Italian-French), with reproductions of the works and critical texts by Angela Madesani and Daria Jorioz, on sale at the exhibition at the price of 32 euros.
