Snowshoe hike to the Urtier valley

The price includes: guided hike, insurance, snowshoes and snow poles. All participants will be equipped with ARVA kit: shovel and probe, after a practical demonstration of their use.
Time and meeting place 9.30 a.m. parking in Lillaz (at the bus stop)
Description of the itinerary:
The itinerary starts from Lillaz (along the Alta via n2) to reach the village of Les Goilles, on the orographic left of the Urtier valley. From there you cross an extensive forest of fir and larch trees that leads you to the pastures of Pianes, situated halfway the entire hike. The second part of the itinerary follows the orographic right side of the valley, leading you back to the starting point: the parking in Lillaz.

Entering the Urtier valley in winter, means opening the body, hearth and mind to wonderful white word, having a snowy soft cover.
It is quite difficult to describe the enchanting atmosphere while admiring the larch and spruce woods, but it’s much easier to experience it while snowshoeing, and discover at the and the ancient origins of the village of Cogne.

All participants will be equipped with ARVA kit: shovel and probe, after a practical demonstration of their use. We love and respect mountains, our snowshoe hikes are organised in total safety!!!
Time of the snowshoe hike: 5 hours, loop itinerary
Height difference: 520 metres approx.
Difficulty: WT3 (snowshoe hike for experienced hikers)
Number of participants: minimum 6 – maximum 10 persons (not suitable for children)
Equipment: snowshoes and snow poles provided by the guide
Clothing: necessary clothing: trekking boots, warm winter layered clothing, water-proof pants, rucksack, thermos with a hot drink, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen.

In case of bad weather: in case of severe bad weather the snowshoe hike will be cancelled or postponed to another date
