Tor de Gargantua - Walking race
A running race now in its 47th edition.
The Tor de Gargantua is an event with a strong sporting spirit yet a warm, community‑oriented atmosphere, organized by the Pro Loco of Gressan and featuring broad participation from both young and adult athletes.
The race takes its name from the Gargantua moraine, a natural ridge linked to local legends about the giant Gargantua, which dominates the landscape of Gressan. The Côte de Gargantua Nature Reserve is a protected area that extends along a morainic ridge approximately one kilometre long, a geological feature that stands out clearly within the agricultural landscape of the valley floor.
The race route unfolds along paved roads, rural tracks, dirt sections and mountain paths within the municipality of Gressan, with start and finish in the green area known as Les Iles.
The main course covers approximately 10 km for the Absolute M/F categories; additional routes of 1, 2, 4 and 5 km are available for the youth categories.
