In the Footsteps of Gold: Antagnod, the Sabotier and Mining Memories

"In the Footsteps of Gold" is a journey into the heart of the Ayas Valley, where history and nature intertwine in search of the traces of the famous Brusson gold mine.
During this excursion, we will explore the testimonies left by the miners.
A leap into the past will take us to Antagnod, where the Rivetti family, who managed the mine in the mid-20th century, left many traces—from their residence, now the town hall, to the altar in the church.
We will have the opportunity to visit the last Sabotier of Ayas, who keeps alive the tradition of crafting wooden sabots, the footwear used by miners in the tunnels.
