Three days of trekking in the medium mountains, along the route of the brand new Balteo Way of Aosta Valley.

Stages of the route:

  • 1st day: from Ville-sur-Sarre to Saint-Nicolas, overnight in Saint-Nicolas;
  • 2nd day: from Saint-Nicolas to Challancin, overnight in Challancin;
  • 3rd day: from Challancin to Arvier.

The altitudes that will be reached will not be very high, but the landscape that can be admired, the woods and the villages that will be crossed will make you discover a mountain different from what you usually imagine.

This trek will take place in the spectacular setting of the highest mountains of the Aosta Valley: Monte Emilius, Becca di Nona, Grivola, Gran Paradiso, Ruitor and the inevitable Mont Blanc.

The silence during the excursions will also give the opportunity to meet some inhabitants of nature: squirrels, foxes, roes and deers who will leave their shelters early in the morning or at dusk to go and feed on the green meadows or on the top of a tree. The path that winds at medium mountain altitudes, will allow you to cross and stop in charming villages, where modern life is accompanied by the flavor of a life of other times.

  • Time and meeting place: 08:30 in Arvier (AO) and transfer by private bus to Ville-sur-Sarre;
  • Estimated travel time: between 5 and 7 hours a day
  • Difference in altitude: between 500 and 800 meters
  • Difficulty: Hiking
  • Minimum number of participants: 6
  • Recommended / mandatory clothing, equipment and materials: Required: trekking boots, comfortable and layered clothing, light down jacket, windproof and / or rainproof jacket, backpack large enough to carry the material of the three days of trekking, hat, water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses. Recommended: poles, camera, binoculars, headlamp.
