The surface of our glaciers is steadily decreasing every year. There are various hypothesis to explain this phenomenon, but unfortunately scientists cannot still give a precise and exact answer to this question. During this hike you will be accompanied by the glaciologist Michele Freppaz, as hiking guide. Therefore, you will have a good opportunity to clarify your doubts on this matter, but also to understand better the various reasons of the suffering of our glaciers.
The main topic of discussion with the guide will be the glaciers, but also the forests that have grown in importance. Forests that are incredibly expanding their surface by occupying the areas left free from glaciers.
This hike will be very interesting and full of emotions. The glaciologists Michele Freppaz will tell you personal experiences and anecdotes about the glacier that he loves so much.
Length of the hike: 7 km. Till toe sources of the river Lys
Height difference: 700 metres approx.

Recommended equipment and clothing: packed lunch, hiking boots, wind-stopper jacket, a fleece pullover, hiking backpack
