In the majestic heart of the Gran Paradiso massif, within Italy’s most prestigious national park, lies the Vittorio Sella Mountain Hut, a haven of tranquillity nestled amongst the peaks. The Lauson basin, where the refuge is nestled, enjoys perfect exposure that keeps the snow pristine from November to May, offering ski mountaineers spectacular views and some of the most fascinating ascents and traverses in the entire Gran Paradiso range.
The Sella Refuge consists of two single-storey stone buildings, welcoming and full of authentic charm. One of them holds history: the former hunting lodge of King Victor Emmanuel II, skilfully renovated to offer modern comforts without losing its original character. Here, amidst the snow and mountains, every stay becomes an unforgettable experience, where nature, history and adventure come together.
