The Frachey Mountain Guides Refuge is located in Resy, close to the slopes of Palon di Resy, at the beginning of the Bettaforca valley.
It enjoys a privileged panoramic position, offering breathtaking views across the entire Val d'Ayas. Nestled in the green pastures of Alpe Forcaz, the refuge is the ideal place for those seeking a relaxing holiday surrounded by natural beauty.
Open during the summer season (with jeep service), the refuge is a perfect starting point for excursions around Monte Rosa. It is also one of the stops on the Alta Via n°1 of the Aosta Valley, the Alta Via n°3 of the Aosta Valley, and the Grande Sentiero Walser, as well as being an ideal base for numerous mountain bike itineraries.
How to get there
On foot: starting from Saint-Jacques (1,689 m) along trail no. 1 (Alta Via) or 9A.
Difficulty: E hiking
Elevation gain: approx. 377 m.
Time: 40/60 minutes
By the lifts: Frachey-Ciarcerio funicular, follow trail no. 1 (Alta Via) towards Resy, which will take you to your destination in about 30-40 minutes, on a route with ups and downs and very little elevation gain.

How to get here
By car
Verrès motorway exit: at the roundabout carry on towards Valle d'Ayas and after about one hundred metres, turn left. Carry on through the valley and go past the towns of Challand-Saint-Victor, Challand-Saint-Anselme, and Brusson and carry on towards Champoluc. Having reached the roundabout of Champoluc carry straight on for several kilometres towards the hamlet of Saint-Jacques.
By public transport
The nearest train station is at Verrès.
Scheduled coach service as far as Ayas (approximately 9 trips a day) with connections to the local circle line which links the various hamlets.
