The Gabiet mountain hut welcomes its guests in simple and comfortable surroundings, with furnishings which are typical of the Walser style.
There is a characteristic lounge for relaxation which is heated by a fireplace, and has a small mountain library.
The rooms are situated on two floors, the refuge has been recently equipped with new bathrooms on the floors.

How to get there in summer:

On foot:
From Staffal (1,825 m) along trail 7A in about 2 hours.
Difficulty : E excurtion route
Elevation gain: 575 m.

From Staffal (1,825 m) along trail 7C in about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Difficulty : E excurtion route
Elevation gain: 600 m.

From Gresoney-La Trinité (1637 m) along trail 4 in about 3 hours.
Difficulty : E excurtion route
Elevation gain: 760 m.

Alternative: Staffal-Gabiet cable car. From the cable car station, the refuge is clearly visible and can be reached in 15 minutes on foot along a dirt path.

How to get there in winter/spring:

On foot/with snowshoes: from the cable car station, follow the green-marked trail for about 15 minutes.
It is forbidden to cross the ski slopes; stay on the green-marked trail.

How to get here

By car

Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit.
At the Pont-Saint-Martin exit of the A5, turn right and follow the signs for Turin. At the first roundabout turn left and follow the signs for the valley of Gressoney. Go into the built-up area of Pont-Saint-Martin and after approximately 500 metres take the road which branches off to the right and carry on along the regional road of the valley of Gressoney. Go past the towns of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby and Gressoney-Saint-Jean. Having reached the built-up area of Gressoney-La-Trinité carry straight on until you reach the large square where the Gabiet cableway starts.

By public transport

The nearest train station is at Pont-Saint-Martin.
Scheduled coach service as far as Gressoney-La-Trinité (approximately 10 trips a day).
