Nora and Hae Sung are close childhood friends. The two are separated when Nora’s family decides to emigrate from South Korea to Canada. Nora manages to fulfill her dream of writing for a living and moves to New York. Twenty years later the two spend a week together, during which they will face many issues.

Past Lives insists, between past and present, on the terrain of individual choices and other lives that we could have had and haven’t had.
