The literary review Monterosa Racconta is ready to welcome the couple made up of Chiara Marchelli and Enrico Camanni, who present respectively their works “Redemption” and “The infinite descent”. Two stories of mystery, set between the Alps and the Tuscan hills: the perfect opportunity to study in depth the character of places and their inhabitants, in an investigation that puts the invisible at the center. Together with the two authors there will be Caterina Soffici.

Enrico Camanni returns with his very personal and fascinating mix of mystery and mountain novel, with his new book “Una discesa infinita”. In autumn the mountain slips into a stasis of its own, between the summer I remember and the snow to wait for. For Nanni Settembrini, guide and head of the mountain rescue of Mont Blanc, October is a month of solitary outings, towards ridges and peaks that make him suffer from the thinning of the glaciers. One morning, however, the remains of a body and the shred of a leather boot from the past emerge from the frozen river of the Miage. When the mountain gives back a broken life, it is as if it also gives back its joys, regrets, vain hopes and unrepeatable uniqueness, and to Nanni that corpse soon enters his thoughts: after all he was a mountaineer like him, he cultivated his own passion, and before dying he had looked at his valley from the top of Mont Blanc when there was still no tunnel and we left without mobile phones, alone on the mountain. The puzzle of time captivates him and Nanni begins to investigate in his own way, looking for clues, chasing memories and lost secrets, because after all what we are looking for in the mystery is a light that consoles those who have remained in the valley waiting in vain.

After La memoria della cenere, Chiara Marchelli returns to “Redenzione”, a novel by
rare mastery, a police investigation intertwined with the historical roots of madness. In a breathtaking story, where the past blossoms into the present like a poisonous flower, the author plunges into the fragility of the female soul, which in the hunger for freedom and perfection has always sought redemption from unhappiness and inflicted and suffered evil.
The lazy tranquility of Volterra is upset by the discovery of a corpse, a woman strangled and thrown into a ditch. The case is dealt with by Maurizio Nardi, commander of the carabinieri, a sharp and shy man, always looking for a solitude in which to shed light on the investigations and on himself. For Giorgia Volterra it is vacation and refuge, the place to catch your breath and protect yourself. For Malina it represents a landing place, the place to get confused among the trees and millenary stones. The two women become friends and Giorgia confides in Malina a past of anorexia and the end of a love story. Malina gives her brief flashes of herself and tells her about her mother, interned at a very young age in the asylum of the city. While the commander Nardi investigates to reconstruct the relations and movements of the victim, Giorgia also mysteriously disappears.

Reservations required from the official site of the organizers.
