Among the most eagerly awaited sporting events of the year, the fourteenth stage of the Giro d’Italia brings spectacular racing to the roads of the Aosta Valley, along a highly evocative route.
The stage starts on 23 May from Piazza Chanoux, in the heart of Aosta: the route crosses the historic centre as far as the Arch of Augustus and then heads into the mountain roads, passing through as many as 16 municipalities in the Aosta Valley: Saint‑Christophe, Quart, Nus, Saint‑Marcel, Roisan, Valpelline, Doues, Gignod, Sarre, Saint‑Pierre, Saint‑Nicolas, Villeneuve, Aymavilles, Jovençan and Gressan, where the finish line is set in Pila.
In the days leading up to the stage, Aosta, a Roman city with a millennia-old history, comes alive with initiatives aimed at a wide audience: music, cultural events and convivial moments accompany the anticipation of the race.
An initiative that celebrates one of the most popular sports in Italy, cycling, while also showcasing the region and its outstanding features.
