Alpages Ouverts - A full day on a mountain dairy farm

1. Arrivati a Torgnon, raggiungere Chantorné; proseguire in direzione Alpe Gorza e percorrere il Tour des Alpages verso Tsan. Seguire la sterrata per l’alpeggio di Dzan Dzevé; da lì proseguire fino a Vaëton (2.30 h circa a piedi, 1.45 h circa in MTB).
2. Arrivati a Torgnon, raggiungere Chantorné; continuare oltre il bar ristoro La Montanara lungo la strada sterrata che con ordinanza comunale è aperta fino in località Gilliarey, quindi fino al bivio per Vaëton, e proseguire in direzione dell’alpeggio. Itinerario consigliato anche per le MTB (2.00 h circa a piedi, 1.30 h circa in MTB).
3. Dal Lodetor seguire a piedi il sentiero verso il Col d’Ersa e, all’incrocio con la sterrata per Vaëton, proseguire sulla stessa. Percorso più impegnativo (1.30 h circa).

- How dairy products are made
At 1.00 p.m., chance to sample the delicious farm produce
Entertainment for children
To allow younger vistors to learn about the fun aspects of life on a mountain dairy farm, themed entertainment is planned.
Contact
A full day on a mountain dairy farm together with those who work there all summer, following the pace set by the animals and the mountain environment. Guided visits, lunch with typical produce, polenta, Fontina and fresh cheeses.

The formula of the event, which began in 2000, is quite simple: visitors are invited to experience a typical day’s activities on the farm, to see the tools that are used and to find out about all the various aspects related to the farm and the pastures, through a series of guided routes ilustrating what happens in the various areas, especially in the daity itself, where the delicious Fontina cheese is made.
This more “serious” part of the visit is combined with another dedicated entirely to children, featuring a series of games and entertaining activities to teach them about work in the mountains in a fun way.
