  • Free of charge for kids under 10 and for all participants staying in some accommodation facilities affiliated to the tourist consortium

  • Time and place of departure: 9.30 a.m., Staffal car park.
  • Route description: the excursion will allow the participants to learn how to read the glacial landscape and to retrace the studies of Umberto Monterin. Once the group will reach the first step on the Alpe Courtlys, it will be possible to meet Alessandro, the owner of the Linty farm, and buy some local products and specialities.
  • Further infos: packed lunch to be taken by the participants; children under 4 years old must be carried in the baby carrier.

Discover the Gressoney valley with the nature guides who will organize a rich programme of excursions for the summer season 2024. Every Tuesday the hikes will end with a visit to vegetable gardens or mountain pastures with a tasting of local products (when possible), a way to get to know the delicacies of the territory.

On Tuesday 16th July, the hikers will walk to the Courtlys alp to discover the glacial environment studied by Umberto Monterin. The hike will end with the visit to the farm owned by the Linty family, with the possibility to buy their high altitude products.

Distance: 5 km (7 km to reach the Lys river springs)
Elevation gain: around 400 m (700 m to reach the Lys river springs)
Difficulty: E - medium (EE - difficult to reach the Lys river springs)
Maximum number of participants: 20
Recommended equipment: packed lunch, hiking boots, wind stopper jacket, polar fleece, backpack.
In case of bad weather it will be possible to make up the missed activity within the same week.
