Marché au fort

The food and wine tradition on the backdrop of a Medieval town

With the attractive backdrop of the Medieval town of Bard, dominated by the imposing Fort, around the middle of October, the Marché au Fort is held; it is a food and wine display window of presentation, tasting and sale of Valle d'Aosta food products; a festival that fits into a tight schedule of activities, local celebrations and events dedicated to agro-silvo-pastoral tradition and local food and that, despite its “youth”, attracts a large number of visitors.

"All the flavours of Valle d'Aosta" are on display here, described “directly” by producers who reveal their secrets. The participants, large and small, are involved in entertainment and performance in the town's streets, all surrounded by the splendid countryside of lower Valle d’Aosta, with its typical vines, large chestnut forests and historical centres, from where the valleys branch off and lead to Monte Rosa and the Cervino on the left bank and the Champorcher on the right, and the Monte Avic Natural Park.
