Monterosa Ski Resort - Gressoney-La-Trinité

Downhill skiing  -  Gressoney-La-Trinité

Monterosa Ski links three alpine valleys into a single ski area, in the sight of the Monte Rosa massif, between the Valle d’Aosta and Piemonte regions. It has always been popular with the most demanding skiers thanks to the carefully maintained runs and the superb technological standards of the lifts. 100 kilometres of runs and 8 alpine towns and villages (Antagnod, Alagna, Alpe di Mera, Brusson, Champoluc-Frachey,Champorcher,Gressoney-La-Trinité, Gressoney-Saint-Jean) that can be accessed with just one ticket and that link the valleys, equipped with 765 artificial snow cover points, thus offering skiers around 100 km of runs even when snow is scarce.

Gressoney-La-Trinité boasts a centuries-old tourist tradition: it has always been a destination for mountaineers who come to the town to conquer the Monte Rosa Massif and its peaks. During the winter season, Gressoney, especially in the hamlet of Staffal, becomes the heart of the Monterosa Ski area: the lifts that connect Gressoney to Val d’Ayas and, on the opposite side, to Valsesia start off from here. Also from Staffal you can access the lifts that open the doors of the Monterosa Freeride Paradise thanks to the Funifor that from Passo dei Salati leads to Indren glacier and to the splendid trails destined for freeriders.
However, development has not affected the strong roots of the secular traditions and the “Walser” influence is still tangible today: houses with centuries-old architectural structures and popular festivals that pass down the Walser culture from generation to generation are, every year, an attraction for those who are looking for a place where they can feel part of the community.

35 km of runs

22 slopes: 2 blue - 17 red - 3 black
