Rotorwork and the Champoluc Ayas Mountain Guide are pleased to accompany you on a fantastic experience on Monterosa!

 

Unforgettable helicopter flights, breathtaking panoramas and incomparable skiing are the perfect combination to make a heliskiing day in the Monterosa valleys unique. Departing from Ayas and Gressoney-La-Trinité, you will reach various alpine sites, even over 4,000 metres, from where you will descend over 2,000 metres of altitude on wild and little-visited glaciers to the villages of Zermatt, Ayas, Gressoney-La-Trinité or Alagna. The alpine guides, in collaboration with the ski instructors, will assist customers every step of the way, from preparation to heli-skiing to managing the descent in total safety. The helicopter will also be available for heli-transport services to and from our ski area, as well as for panoramic flights over Monterosa. Airbag, artva, shovel, probe and harness are mandatory safety equipment.

Weather: in case of bad weather, the organisers will be forced to cancel the heli-skiing activity, which will be rescheduled or refunded.

Helicopters and pilots: The pilots hold a mountain passenger flight licence and are highly experienced. The helicopter used is the AS 350 B3 + Ecureuil type, known and used worldwide for its take-off and landing capability.

Capacity: 4 clients + mountain guide or ski instructor.

Felice Giordano Bivouac

The mountain hut was built on the rocks of the Balmenhorn peak during the World War I for military purposes. In 1955, next to it, the statue of Cristo delle Vette was erected.
The current bivouac, which replaced the old one, was placed in 1985 and dedicated to Felice Giordano, a mountain guide from Alagna Valsesia, who died on 29th April 1968 by falling into a crevasse during a mountain rescue operation, near Pyramide Vincent.

The bivouac is dedicated to the memory of Colonel Carlo Gastaldi.

Access:
The path leading to the bivouac starts in lower Edelboden. Continue into a larch wood along the clear path that winds sharply upwards. When you get to a series of cliffs, get past them by crossing right and come out onto small grassy terraces where you will find the Spillmansberg pature home.
Continue along the hillside, crossing steep slopes, towards the valley floor, and when you get to a stream, cross it to follow the trail that rises up the large eroded blocks.
After an easy rock plate, you will come to a grassy crag where the bivouac is located.

Overnight: 3€ per person

Equipment: mattresses, pillows, blankets, melting water, no gas.

Mamo Comotti bivouac

The bivouac, inaugurated in summer 2015, was built by the friends of Massimo Comotti, known as Mamo, in his memory. Mamo was an architect from Milan, in love with mountains and especially with Monte Rosa. He died when he was 44 years old, hit by an avalanche on 31st December 2009, under Rothorn pass (Gressoney).

The bivouac is located in the heart of the southern side of Monte Rosa, on the ridge of “Naso del Lyskamm”, in a slight depression protected from the winds.
It is equipped with photovoltaic system for indoor lighting and outdoor signal lights. The small kitchen is gas-powered.

Punta Jolanda chairlift

Punta Jolanda is a beautiful natural terrace at an altitude of 2238 meters that offers a superb view of the Monte Rosa chain and Testa Grigia.
In Summer , it is the starting point of different hikes, for the visit of Lake Gabiet and for adrenalitic mountain bike rides. It's possible to carry mountain bike on the chairlift.

Sant'Anna - Betta Pass Chairlift

The Colle della Bettaforca is the starting point for several climbs on the glacier and is the border crossing with the Val d'Ayas.

The chairlift Sant'Anna - Colle Betta leads to an altitude of 2,727 meters: from here you can continue upwards or descend to the valley enjoying beautiful views. It is possible to transport mountain bikes.

Stafal-Sant'Anna cableway

Ski-lift complex:  -  Gressoney-La-Trinité

Green meadows and the Monte Rosa massif frame the Sant'Anna plateau at an altitude of 2,182.  Taking the cable car from Stafal you can enjoy an extraordinary view and is an ideal place to spend a pleasant day in the mountains.

The cableway is open in Summer and Winter, too.
