The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc is a great sporting event that attracts numerous trailers from all over the world. Mont Blanc becomes the protagonist of various mountain races of different types, lengths and difficulties.

The main and original race is the UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc), a complete tour of the Mont Blanc massif, around 170 km and 10,000 meters of elevation gain, crossing 3 countries: France, Switzerland et Italy.

The other races are:

  • CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix). 101km and 6,100 metres of positive height gain. Considered by many runners to be “the little one” nevertheless it too, constitutes one of the most difficult challenges in ultra – trail.
  • TDS (sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie). 145km and 9,100 metres of positive height gain. Beautiful, technical, wild, demanding, the TDS links the Aosta Valley to the Savoie, offering a voyage of discovery to the villages of the tour du Mont-Blanc and the mountains that surround them, mixing history and mountain.
  • PTL (la Petite Trotte à Léon). Around 300km and 25,000 metres of positive height gain. An event without official ranking. The route is to be realised in semi-self-sufficiency and by teams of 2 or 3 inseparable runners. A “grand” tour of the Mont Blanc adding high passes, often higher than 2,500 metres and with some delicate passages.
  • OCC (Orsières-Champex-Chamonix). 55km and 3,500 metres of positive height gain. On a shorter version, this race, starting in Switzerland, it’s perfect for fans of medium distances.
