The La Thuile Trail – Memorial Edo Camardella crosses landscapes of extraordinary natural beauty and passes through some of La Thuile’s most significant historical sites.
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the La Thuile Trail is introducing an exciting addition to the program: starting in 2026, the event will include a 10 km Short Trail, alongside the well-established distances of 25 km, 43 km, and 70 km.
Short Trail 10 km – 650 m D+
The new 10 km route, limited to a maximum of 200 participants, starts in the heart of La Thuile and, for the first 6 km, follows much of the 25 km course. The climb leads up to the 2,000-meter-high Plan Praz fort, a natural balcony offering breathtaking views of the Alpine giants: Mont Blanc, the Grandes Jorasses, and Grand Assaly.
From there, the descent begins toward the finish line at 1,440 meters in the village center. The route runs mainly on single track, with some sections on dirt roads and short paved stretches near the finish.
Trail 25 km – 1500 D+
Trailers will reach the Deffeyes mountain hut through the wonderful « Balconata », walk along the majestic Rutor glacier, its moraine and its spectacular lakes and pass throgh the Bellacomba valley to reach the Tchuielletta lakes and finally descend towards the ski facilities area and the town centre.
Marathon 42 km – 2500 D+
The Marathon begins with a 1700-meter climb in the first few miles. Once through the Vallon de Youla and skirting Mont Nix, competitors will arrive at altitude at the Col du Berrio Blanc, where the course winds along a spectacular ridge with view across to Mont Blanc. After enjoying the views at Col Chavanne, enchanting and unexplored trails lead to the Colle di Bassa Serra and, after passing the picturesque lakes Tormotta and Verney at the Little Saint Bernard pass. The long final descent takes competitors back down to La Thuile, passing through Riondet and the forests of the ski slopes.
Ultra 70 km - 4000 D+
The first part of the course follows the scenic route of the 25km trail. The runners will pass through the 25km finish line in the village and then continue through the valley of Youla and passing by Mont Nix. A long diagonal will take the runners up to the Berrio Blanc pass, where the route winds along a spectacular ridge with views across to Mont Blanc. After enjoying the views at Chavanne pass, wild and unexplored trails lead to the Bassa Serra pass and, after passing the picturesque Lake Tormotta, to the Little Saint Bernard pass. The long final descent takes competitors back to La Thuile, passing through Riondet and the forests of the ski slopes.
