In Queen Margherita of Savoy and Tolstoy's footsteps
The itinerary allows you to retrace a path which was well known to two great personalities fond of Gressoney - the last Queen of Italy, Queen Margherita of Savoy, and the Russian writer Lev Tolstoy - and to discover interesting testimonies of the past.
The route is characterised by breathtaking views of the Monte Rosa peaks and the Lys and Ayas valleys and is rich in interesting botanical varieties. The path climbs up to Punta Regina and then descends to Colle Ranzola and the mountain pasture of the same name, where you can taste and buy a delicious Fontina cheese.
