Not all the structures which can be reached by cableway today can still be considered refuges. However the two Torino refuges deserve to be included in the list because of their historical importance – the Colle del Gigante has been used by mountaineers since the times of Horace-Bénédict de Saussure – and the role which they play for mountaineers heading towards Mont-Blanc du Tacul, its satellites, and Dente del Gigante and Aiguille de Rochefort. <br>They are two large brickwork structures, with bathrooms, although they are not especially comfortable also because of their altitude.
