How to get here by car

Aosta Ovest-Aymavilles motorway exit. At the motorway exit carry straight on towards Aosta until you reach the roundabout: turn left here and carry on along strada statale (main road) 26 towards Mont Blanc going past Sarre castle on your right and past the towns of Saint-Pierre and Villeneuve.
Keep going straight on and approximately 8 km from the motorway exit, you will reach the built-up area of Arvier, go past it and carry straight on to reach the roundabout and go along the viaduct. Before the next tunnel, turn left and you will reach the built-up area of Leverogne, the road towards Valgrisenche starts here. Carry on along it for approximately 20 km until you reach the town centre of Valgrisenche. By car, from the town center, continue towards Bonne and follow the road to Surier. On foot, it is possible to leave the car in Mondanges (hamlet after the town center), follow the signs for the camper area, take the path that leads you to the top of the dam and continue on the new path that runs along the Beauregard lake for 6 km flat, up to Surier. Here, you will find the path, indicated by a yellow sign, which reads ‘Rifugio Chalet de l’Epée’. The refuge can be reached in approximately two hours on foot.
