Sleddog
Dog sledding
Since 1996, Lovati Fabrizio has been organizing exciting tour groups in Valle d‘Aosta and spectacular dog sledding sport events: dog sledding excursions.
Your first time dog sledding
Experience the thrill of driving a team of sled dogs in the unspoilt nature in the Valle d’Aosta while admiring the Mont Blanc, accompanied and assisted by musher Fabrizio Lovati and specialized guides.
After a few short and simple theoretical concepts taught by your instructors, you will personally drive a sled pulled by 3-4 huskies, and experience the charm and difficulty of this sport.
Usually a guide leads the group and adults follow, each with their own sled with 3-4 dogs. The excursion lasts about half an hour (it depends on meteorological conditions, the texture of the snow, and how good a pupil is).
Children between 4 and 7 ride in the sled with a guide. Usually, starting at 8 until 12 they can drive alone like adults, to their great satisfaction!
At the end of the excursion, you will be offered a hot chocolate or a drink at a shelter adjacent to the track and you will learn all you want about the world of dog sledding.
Locations
The routes are located in Courmayeur in Val Veny:
Both paths are immersed in the wild nature of Val Veny, in an uncontaminated landscape at the foot of the Mont Blanc chain.
The paths are chosen according to how many people are involved in the activity, the first, a little longer, is suitable for a maximum participation of 6/8 people; the second path, on the other hand, is shorter and suitable for corporate and / or private groups / incentives with a participation of 8 to 25 people.
The duration of the excursion lasts depending on the route and the number of participants, from a minimum of 1 hour and a half to a maximum of 3 hours.
Recommended clothing
The excursions will operate in all weather conditions. We recommend wearing waterproof and durable footwear (after-ski or trekking boots), winter clothes, gloves, earmuffs or snow hats, sunglasses. Don’t’ forget your camera. At what age can you get started.
Our little friends have the opportunity to drive a sled (accompanied or alone).
Younger children get a ride on the guide’s sled, whereas ages 9 and older can try on their own if they choose the Your first time dog sledding program.
Incentives & team building service
We organize company incentives and provide structural and logistic support for the production of documentaries, commercials, movies, and themed events.
Our standard program is customized depending on whether we cater to couples, families, young groups, company teams, or big events. Evening excursions by moonlight, or to experience a typical mountain hut lunch may also be scheduled.
