Where to sleep: Champorcher

Typical mountain house in wood and stones, completely renovated in a very panoramic position.
This agritourism is run directly from the owners that breed cows, cultivate the vegetable gardens and look after their meadows for haying and pasture.
The Relais des reines offers its guests rooms and meals.The rooms are cosy and decorated in local style.
At the restaurant you can taste homecooked food prepared with farm products and served with local wines.

The Hotel Castello is a point of reference for tranquil walks, numerous excursions, on foot and on mountain bikes, which make it possible to cross landscapes with rare beautiful flora and views, to come across typical alpine fauna, streams, lakes, mountain pastures, retreats and even exercise areas. Each corner is suggestive and provokes strong emotions.
The hotel Castello is convenient for various types of skiing in the winter and spring: there is a cross-country ski slope 200 metres away and ski lifts for downhill and alpine skiing 900 metres away.

The Hotel Petit Paradis is situated in the hamlet of Chardonney approximately 150 metres from the downhill and alpine ski lifts and approximately 300 metres from the cross-country ski slope.

“La Brenva” B&B is located in a small, quiet hamlet of Champorcher, Verana, a few steps from the entrance to the Alleigne Valley, a short distance from Mont Avic Park and the many trails in the area. There are climbing gyms and a bouldering area nearby. The ski lifts of Laris and the Nordic ski slope located in the hamlet of Chardoney are only 2 km away. Our facility includes two double bedrooms with an independent entrance and private bathrooms. Both are equipped with a hairdryer, a set of towels for face, shower and bidet, a courtesy set, free Wi-Fi and independent heating. Most of the products that feature in our breakfasts are organic or zero km: fruit juices, yogurt, cereals, fresh bread, milk, butter, jams, coffee and homemade desserts.

The Maison de Grand-Maman is a beautiful nineteenth-century stone house. The manager personally designed and created the furniture by carefully and creatively restoring old wood and respecting the traditional structure of the building. The result is a two-floor house full of charm, where the woody fragrance combines with the carefully selected fabrics, the impressive led lighting and the harmony of the setting, richly decorated and furnished with antique furniture and traditional objects.
The Maison de Grand-Maman is immersed in the heart of a village, but very close to the municipal road (private car park); in the summer season, a lovely garden to the side of the house allows you to relax in the shade of the trees. The B&B is made up of a kitchen with an annexed cellar, breakfast room and three rooms.

Situated at an altitude of 2,582 metres on the shores of Lake Miserin, in the municipality of Champorcher, the Miserin Mountain Hut, open only during the summer period, occupies a stunning location within the Mont Avic Nature Park, on the border with the Gran Paradiso National Park, along the route of the Alta Via n. 2.

Once a hospice for pilgrims heading to the nearby Sanctuary of  la Madonna delle Nevi, , the refuge still retains the charm of its history, combined with the comfort of a renovated facility. Next to it stands the sanctuary, the destination of a traditional pilgrimage that takes place every year on 5 August.

The natural setting is one of rare beauty: the alpine lake, the surrounding peaks and the silence of the mountains create an evocative atmosphere brimming with energy. The refuge has 40 beds and offers a bar and restaurant service, where you can enjoy traditional local dishes in a simple and welcoming setting.

To stay overnight in the mountain hut, you must use a sleeping bag liner, which can also be purchased on site.

How to get there

On foot:

• from Loc. Dondena 2,106 m.,  which can be reached by car via a dirt track without crash barriers, take the Alta Via 2 trail leading to the Dondena Refuge, a former royal hunting lodge, situated in a splendid valley basin, alongside other ruins of royal hunting lodges dating back to 1860, reachable via a walk of about 15 minutes, then ascend the valley until you reach the Miserin Refuge. Once you reach your destination, you will find a very picturesque and charming landscape. Near the Miserin Refuge there is a beautiful artificial lake in whose waters the Rosa dei Banchi, the Bec Costazza and the Tour Ponton are reflected, and a short walk away stands a beautiful sanctuary. Alternatively, from the car park in Loc. Dondena, you can also take trail n. 7

• from Loc. Chardonney 1440 m (cable car car park). Walk alongside the stream, cross the bridge over the Ayasse and follow the mule track (AV2 / trail n. 9). Take the path known as la Scaletta on the right, cross the stream again and continue up the steps to the grassy plateau, reaching Champlong and Dondena. Continue along the dirt track through the pastures to the Dondena mountain hut. From here, both the AV2 and trail n. 7 lead to Lake Miserin and the Miserin mountain hut.

Revivre Village - Adults Only - is located in the village of Ronchas, on the sun-drenched ridge of the Champorcher Valley, an ancient mountain village where fields of rye arranged on terraces characterised the landscape. All the huts are made of wood and stone, furnished with care, respecting the typical architecture of the place.
In the summer months, the gardens arranged on terraces offer an incredible view of the valley.
Suggestive, silent, sunny, it is the ideal place to spend moments of relaxation in harmony with nature. From the village, there is direct access to the Mont Avic Park and its trails.
