Where to sleep: Saint-Oyen

The ‘del Mulino’ camping ground is certainly the ideal location to rest, breath in the clean air and relax in complete peace, forgetting the stress of city life. You can explore its surroundings with beautiful walks, or if you prefer, true mountain excursions.

A modern, wood and stone building in traditional mountain style set in a splendid, panoramic location along the ancient Via Francigena road to Switzerland, along the suggestive Gran San Bernando pass and alongside the Tunnel, open all year round, and in proximity of the ski slopes and the ski-lifts.
The rooms boast traditional Val d'Aosta country style furniture. The family-run hotel is furnished with traditional Val d'Aosta items. The restaurant serves elaborate continental dishes and regional specialities.

In the past 'Château-Verdun' was a Fortified House surrounded by nature, halfway between Aosta and the pass of Gran San Bernardo.
Since the 11th century, the House and its adjoining land has always served the Hospice of Gran San Bernardo, both as a refuge for travelers and donkeys and as a farm supplying the Hospice itself.
This mission has been carried out loyally for nine centuries, up until the present time, in the spirit of 'hospitality' which is characteristic of the canonics of Gran San Bernardo.
Château-Verdun has been completely restored in order to provide present day needs. Since 1991 it has become a guest house open to everybody.
