5:59 a.m. – “Albata” – The Pont-Saint-Martin Town Band, playing the traditional Anthem, officially opens the 116th Carnival with a parade through the streets of the town.
11:00 a.m. – Fagiolata organized by Insula Leonis in Via Repubblica, at Piazza dei Leoni (Centro Anziani square): distribution of beans begins.
11:30 a.m. – “As pend ’l diao” – The Pont-Saint-Martin Town Band enters Piazza IV Novembre. To the notes of the Carnival Anthem, the Devil is hung beneath the arch of the millenary Roman Bridge.

At dawn on Epiphany Day, a large group of musicians from the Pont-Saint-Martin Town Band begins a long march through the streets of the town and, to the thrilling sound of the Carnival Anthem, performs the “Albata”.
The music reaches the population in the darkness, creating an emotional awakening: Carnival has arrived!
On January 6th, the historic Carnival of Pont-Saint-Martin officially begins with the much-anticipated hanging of the devil’s effigy beneath the Roman bridge.
From 10 a.m., the Belzebù puppet will be in Piazza IV Novembre, available for fun photos with children.
The morning will be enlivened by the Town Band, the Insulae, Carnival characters and the ever-present Befane, amid music, celebration and joy.
