Ou Crierel

Ou Crierel is a small family-run hostel created with the aim of promoting Lillianes and the Lys Valley through simple, authentic and informal hospitality. A mountain home open to hikers, families, groups of friends, pilgrims along the Balteo Way and those seeking nature, tranquillity and a slower pace of life.

The hostel is located in a historic 17th-century building, now owned by the municipality and recently renovated, which in the past housed the parish, the town hall and the primary schools. It stands opposite the parish church of San Rocco (1755), next to the bell tower dating back to 1617 and a splendid four-arched bridge from 1733, unique in the Aosta Valley.

Opposite the entrance is the historic newsstand called “Ou Crierel”, from which the hostel takes its name. From 1614 until the end of the Second World War, the “cries”, public announcements read by the “crieur” in patois, were proclaimed here to the community gathered in the church square. The name of the hostel refers to this tradition: to continue to be a place of meeting and exchange for travellers from all over the world, immersed in the tranquillity and nature of the Lys Valley.

The rooms are designed to offer a simple, comfortable and relaxing stay after a day spent on the trails, in the snow or in the villages of the Lys Valley. Clean rooms, simple but tasteful furnishings and everything you need for a good night's sleep: a solution suitable for those travelling alone, as a couple, with family or in a group.
