How to get there

Courmayeur highway exit. Follow the directions for Val Ferret to Planpincieux.

A beautiful route, always in sight of Mont Blanc and the Grandes Jorasses, with an excellent base at the Bonatti hut.

Description of the route

Day one:
Park your car in the Planpincieux lot and take the footpath that follows the valley floor. After the hamlet of Lavachey, climb the small valley on the right until you hit the farm road. Follow the road to the sign for the Bonatti hut on the left. Continue through the larch wood heading East. You’ll reach the hut just out of the woods.

Day two:
From the hut, climb the marked valley of Malatrà and cross the wide plateau to the left. After a steeper rise, follow the valley floor which, with a final steep segment, leads to the hill.
Descent down the upward itinerary.
