Il Battaglione Sciatori Monte Cervino
The Alpine Skiers Battalion “Monte Cervino” was one of the most formidable Alpine battalions that covered itself with fame, with legend and glory wherever it was employed. The battalion was awarded the gold medal for military valor, for the operations carried out on the Russian front, and the silver gold for military valor for the operations in Albany. Its members were awarded 3 gold medals, 42 silver and 68 copper medals, 81 crosses of war. Many were awarded to the memory, others on the field. Each year, on the first Sunday of July, a Holy Mass is celebrated on the occasion of the Veterans’ Meeting.
