Not all the structures which can be reached by cableway today can still be considered refuges. However the Torino refuge deserve to be included in the list because of their historical importance - the Colle del Gigante has been used by mountaineers since the times of Horace-Bénédict de Saussure - and the role which it plays for mountaineers heading towards Mont-Blanc du Tacul, its satellites, and Dente del Gigante and Aiguille de Rochefort.

In auto

Courmayeur motorway exit.
After the Courmayeur motorway exit carry on towards the Traforo del Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc Tunnel) for approximately 3 km to Pontal d'Entrèves where the departure of the Skyway del Monte Bianco cablecar is located. The refuge can be reached by cableway.

Con i trasporti pubblici

The nearest train station is in Aosta.
Scheduled Coach service as far as Courmayeur (approximately 15 trips a day).
It is possible to reach the start of the cableway taking the local line (approximately 15 trips a day).
